I thought I didnt like the art style but its well worth the watch pictures and such do it no justice. What I can do however is note that in the event it is decided that the 1999 version is superior that one might finish the 1999 version and then start watching the 2011 version from episode 76 onward episode 76 being the point where the two versions no longer overlap in terms of plot. I tried to watch the 1999 version and I found it personally unbearable. The 99s version made them look like different characters which wouldnt make sense for character developments later on.
